The Tripura State Cabinet has approved the filling of 588 vacant posts across various government departments, in a major step towards expanding employment opportunities and strengthening public services in the state.
State Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the Cabinet decisions during a press conference at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday.
According to the decision, 361 posts under the Basic Education sector of the Education Department will be filled, including 75 graduate-level posts and 286 non-graduate-level posts.
The Cabinet has also approved the recruitment of 8 Group-C posts, including clerical positions, in the Science and Environment Department. In addition, 213 posts across different categories will be filled in the Agartala Municipal Corporation, while 6 Group-C and Group-D posts have been sanctioned for the Law Department.
The Cabinet approved the formation of the Tripura Staff Selection Commission (TSSC). The commission will oversee recruitment for Group-B, Group-C and Group-D posts under the state government.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the new commission is aimed at making government recruitment more transparent, impartial, organized and merit-based. The initiative is expected to create wider employment opportunities for Tripura's youth while ensuring a fair and systematic selection process.
