Actor Saurabh Shukla, who has been a part of the industry for over two decades, draws a clear distinction between personal choices and professional worth. He believes that the two should never be confused and that his personal choices, such as enjoying expensive cars, shouldn't define him as an actor.
Shukla, who recently directed Jab Khuli Kitab, has largely stayed away from a constant, personality-driven PR machinery. He admits that he has never had a personal PR running behind him all the time, but it never stopped him from being known and connecting with his work.
The 63-year-old actor acknowledges the importance of PR in the industry, but also asserts its limitations. He believes that PR cannot replace the work itself and that the audience stays for what you do on screen, not just hype.
