Nandamuri Balakrishna's highly-anticipated film Akhanda 2 has finally been given a release date. The movie, which was initially set to hit theatres on December 5, will now be released on December 12. The makers, 14 Reels Plus, announced the new date on their official X account, sharing a poster and hinting at a grand premiere on December 11. The film's release was postponed hours before its initial scheduled release, leaving fans disappointed. In a statement, the makers apologized to fans and cited unforeseen circumstances as the reason for the delay. Although the exact reason for the postponement remains unclear, an ongoing court case between 14 Reels Entertainment and Eros International Media Limited may be the cause. The court case revolves around a pending arbitration payment of ₹28 crore plus interest. Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, directed by Boyapati Srinu, is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda. The film features Balakrishna alongside Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinishetty, and Harshaali Malhotra in key roles. The movie's soundtrack, composed by Thaman S, received positive feedback from fans.
