Akshay Kumar has finally addressed the criticism surrounding his 'fake moustache' in the 2022 historical drama Samrat Prithviraj.

In a recent podcast, the actor clarified that the issue was never about his unwillingness to grow facial hair.

He explained that the story required a particular kind of moustache, which couldn't grow naturally on his face, and that he had to use a fake one for the role.

Akshay also apologized to fans who didn't like the look, saying 'it's acting' and sometimes you have to do things that might not be perfect.

The movie, directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Yash Raj Films, was a biopic of legendary warrior Prithviraj Chauhan and earned ₹90 crore at the box office worldwide.

Akshay is currently receiving praise for his performance in Bhooth Bangla and has several other projects in the pipeline, including Welcome To The Jungle and Haiwaan.
