Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has come to the defense of his co-star Wamiqa Gabbi, who has been subject to comparisons with Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif.
Akshay emphasized that Wamiqa has carved her own path in the industry and has her own identity, despite being compared to other actresses.
Wamiqa has also responded to such comparisons with humor, saying that she is talented and beautiful, and that she has her own unique qualities.
The two are currently starring together in the horror-comedy film Bhooth Bangla, which marks Akshay's reunion with director Priyadarshan after 14 years.
The film has collected around ₹35 crore at the domestic box office and follows the story of a London-based man who travels to India to prepare his sister's palace for her wedding, but discovers a mysterious entity that abducts brides.
Akshay will next be seen in Welcome to the Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan, which is scheduled to release in theatres on June 6, 2026.
