Bollywood director Manish Gupta has made some explosive allegations against actor Akshaye Khanna, claiming that he behaved unprofessionally on the set of their 2017 film, Section 375. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Gupta revealed that Khanna initially committed to the film for ₹2 crore, but later demanded a pay hike to ₹3.25 crores. Gupta also accused Khanna of trying to take control of the film's direction and production, leading to a contract breach. Gupta claimed that after finishing another film, The Accidental Prime Minister, Khanna returned to Section 375 and started making unreasonable demands. Khanna allegedly asked producer Kumar Mangat to remove Gupta as the director and hand over full control of the film to him. Gupta said that Mangat eventually did an out-of-court settlement with him, but now faces the consequences of Khanna's behavior in the upcoming film Drishyam 3. The controversy surrounding Section 375 has resurfaced as Khanna is enjoying a fresh wave of acclaim for his performance in the film Dhurandhar. Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has been a commercial success, with a sequel slated for release later this year. Gupta's allegations against Khanna have raised questions about the actor's behavior on set and the impact it has on the film's crew and production team.
