For decades, Steven Spielberg has captivated audiences with his science fiction blockbusters. Now, the Oscar-winning filmmaker has shared a personal belief that mirrors the themes of many of his works: he thinks aliens exist and may have already visited Earth.
Recently, Spielberg appeared on CBS Sunday Morning and said he is convinced that extra-terrestrial beings have visited Earth, citing circumstantial evidence and testimonies in Congress.
Though his films have explored the mysteries of alien life, Spielberg said he has never witnessed anything paranormal firsthand. He jokingly expressed disappointment that he hasn't had a personal sighting, saying, 'I deserved it. I deserved a sighting.'
Spielberg's latest film, Disclosure Day, marks his return to large-scale alien science fiction. The film follows characters caught in a UFO-related conspiracy as they try to expose the truth about extraterrestrial life.
Disclosure Day is set to release internationally on June 12 and stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, and Wyatt Russell.
