Veteran playback singer Alka Yagnik has been awarded the Padma Bhushan in a ceremony held in Delhi. The 60-year-old singer expressed her gratitude towards the Government of India and her listeners. Over the years, Yagnik has delivered numerous chart-topping hits, including iconic tracks like Ek Do Teen and Tip Tip Barsa Paani.
She is currently recovering from an illness but remains hopeful. This year's Padma Awards feature 131 distinguished personalities, with 66 receiving their honours directly in today's ceremony. Notable awardees include late icon Dharmendra, actor Mammootty, and national cricket captain Rohit Sharma.
