Anurag Kashyap, the director of Bandar, expressed his disappointment with the current situation at the Indian box office. With 14 films competing for space, Obsession, a Hollywood hit, continues to receive priority show timings, while Indian films struggle to get a fair share.
Kashyap took to his Instagram stories to express his thoughts, stating that if Indian films are not prioritized with better showcasing, they will not grow. He pointed out that Bandar, which earned ₹4 crores last week, has limited show timings, while Obsession, which has earned over ₹60 crores in India, has multiple show timings.
Kashyap's concerns are valid, as Indian films like Main Vaapas Aaunga, Sing Gheetam, and Governor are struggling to get a fair share of show timings, while Obsession continues to dominate the box office.
