The nation mourns the loss of legendary singer Asha Bhosle, but Ghazal singer Sudeep Banerji is filled with gratitude for having worked with her just a few months ago.
Recalling their recording session, Sudeep said, 'I recorded a song with her a few months back, and I was amazed by her behavior with the music director. She gave so much respect.'
What struck Sudeep was Asha Bhosle's old-school approach to music. 'She used to call me at her house, sit with me for hours, learning the words, tunes, and nuances of the song.'
This wasn't the first time Sudeep collaborated with Asha Bhosle, but he was surprised by her yet again. 'I worked with her when she was in her mid-80s, but now at 92, she stood and recorded the song for three hours without any support.'
Sudeep was mesmerized by her professionalism and positivity. 'Aaj ki generation ko ye unse seekhna chahiye' (This is something today's generation should learn from her).
While they wanted to release the song with her present, coming out with it now will be a bittersweet experience.
