Singer Babul Supriyo, a member of the All India Trinamool Congress and Rajya Sabha, prefers to be known as a public representative rather than a politician. He believes the term 'politician' often carries a negative connotation, as seen in Bollywood films where politicians are portrayed as villains.

According to Supriyo, he wants to be considered someone who gets the job done and serves the people. He emphasizes that good work and integrity earn him gratitude from the public, rather than being seen as a 'thankless job.'

Supriyo, who remains active in showbiz, recently released a remix version of the classic track 'Inteha Ho Gayi.' He notes that while star status can help win an election, it's not a guarantee of success in politics. He likens being a public representative to being a singer, where the audience pays for tickets in the hope of a good performance.
