Anurag Kashyap's gritty film Bandar, starring Bobby Deol, continues to face a tough time at the box office. Despite receiving praise from critics and a positive response from some moviegoers, the film's box office earnings remain stagnant. According to the latest update from Sacnilk, Bandar has collected ₹33 lakh on its 5th day of release, showing barely any growth from the ₹30 lakh haul on Monday.
The highest single-day haul for the film is ₹1 crore, collected on Sunday, bringing the total India gross collections to ₹3.63 crore and the total India net to ₹3.08 crore so far. Bandar is facing stiff competition from other releases, including Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Obsession, and Peddi.
The film's story revolves around Samar, a singer-actor whose career is on the decline, and his life takes a shocking turn when he is arrested after a woman files a rape complaint against him. As the case gathers momentum, his personal life begins to fall apart, leaving him trapped in a system that appears to have already made up its mind.
Anurag Kashyap had praised Bobby Deol's performance in the film, saying he was 'emotionally naked' and 'vulnerable' in every scene. The film features a talented cast, including Sapna Pabbi and several National Award winners.
