Director Rahul Dholakia recently called out celebrities for skipping the Screen Awards 2026, but fans have come to the defense of Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh.
Aditya Dhar's spy thriller Dhurandhar swept the awards, taking home 14 trophies, including Best Actor for Ranveer Singh.
Rahul Dholakia expressed disappointment over nominees and winners skipping the ceremony, despite knowing they would win in advance.
However, fans have defended Aditya and Ranveer, citing examples of other Bollywood celebrities who also skip award shows.
One social media user wrote, "Is Aamir Khan, Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgn not part of Bollywood fraternity who doesn't go to award shows?"
Another user noted, "When you and your group criticized and called that movie 'propaganda' and shouting a bunch of nonsense about it, why would they attend??"
Despite the controversy, Dhurandhar's success continues to be celebrated, with fans praising the film's box office success and the love it received from the audience.
