The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has denied allegations of being involved in the leak of Vijay's unreleased film Jana Nayagan.

The film, which was stuck with the CBFC for months, was leaked in HD earlier this week, sparking speculation and confusion.

The CBFC issued a statement denying any link to the leak, calling the claims 'baseless and false.'

The statement added that the digital print of the film had been returned to the makers last month and is no longer with the board.

It further stated that access to the content is password-protected, and the KDM remains solely with the producer/filmmaker, making it impossible for the film to be accessed or viewed without a valid KDM.

The DCP of Jana Nayagan was handed over to the applicant in Mumbai on 17 March, and has remained with them since.
