Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde's Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai recently unveiled the recreation of Biwi No 1's Chunnari Chunnari, receiving a mixed response. Creators Akshay Raheja and IP Singh are ecstatic about the love they've received, but also faced criticism from Abhijeet Bhattacharya, the singer of the original song.
IP Singh says, 'Art is subjective. Some people will like it, some people won’t. We know we worked on it with our whole hearts, trying to honour the essence of the song and its nostalgia.'
Akshay Raheja adds, 'When we work with senior artistes, there has to be some merit that it's a good song, that's why it got selected and released.'
The duo hopes to get Abhijeet Bhattacharya's blessings soon, considering him a legend and a veteran in the music industry.
Akshay & IP see it as a 'responsibility' to present the iconic song to the Gen-z audience in a new way, sampling the original sounds and giving it a fresh twist.
