Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, an actor-politician, brought cinematic flair to the state assembly by ending his speech with a dramatic gesture, reminiscent of former CM MK Stalin.

Members of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) walked out during his speech, but Vijay sought Speaker JCD Pabhakar's permission to make a dramatic exit, which he did with a smile and a 'it's over' gesture with his hand.

The moment, which went viral, was seen as a nod to Stalin's earlier gesture, which was misinterpreted as a sign that talks of a DMK-Congress alliance were finalised.

Fans on social media reacted with enthusiasm, calling it a 'birthday treat' from CM Thalapathy Vijay, with one fan joking that Vijay's craze has increased since he became CM.

Vijay's transition to politics has been marked by his recent film releases, including Varisu and Leo in 2023, and The Greatest of All Time in 2024, with his final film Jana Nayagan still awaiting certification.
