The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Centre and producers of the upcoming web series 'UP 77', which allegedly depicts the life of slain gangster Vikas Dubey. Richa Dubey, his wife, has filed a petition claiming the series is based on her personal life and contains defamatory content. The series is set to release on December 25 on the Waves OTT platform. Justice Sachin Datta has listed the matter for further hearing on Wednesday. Dubey was killed in a police encounter in 2020. His wife is seeking a stay on the release, citing concerns over her right to privacy, dignity, and reputation. The court will hear both parties before making a decision.
