A Marathi film director has spoken out against the backlash he received after revealing that Shah Rukh Khan's production house helped him with budget issues during post-production.

Deool Band 2 director Pravin Tarde took to Instagram to address the controversy, saying that the film's success was due to honest and sincere efforts, not the backing of big names or influential figures.

Tarde shared that he approached Red Chillies Entertainment for a Digital Cinema Package (DCP) and was initially quoted ₹42 lakh, but Shah Rukh Khan waived the fee when the makers couldn't afford it.

The film, which stars Mohan Joshi and Snehal Tarde, has crossed ₹80 crore worldwide and explores the sensitive issue of farmer suicides and the conflict between faith and atheism.
