Akshaye Khanna's exit from the highly anticipated film Drishyam 3 has caused a major stir in the Bollywood industry. The actor had been signed on for the movie, but just one day before its sister film Dhurandhar's release, he sent a message to the producers stating that he was no longer involved in the project. The reason behind his sudden exit has been revealed by the film's producer, Kumar Mangat Pathak, who claims that it was not due to a fee hike, as previously speculated. Instead, Pathak alleges that Akshaye wanted to change his character's look, which was not feasible given the film's storyline. The producers had already begun working on Akshaye's costume and had even given money to the designers to create his look. However, Akshaye changed his mind, claiming that people had praised his look in the previous film, Dhurandhar. Pathak believes that some people around Akshaye may have influenced him to make this decision. Kumar Mangat Pathak has expressed his disappointment with Akshaye's behavior, stating that it's not the first time the actor has done this. He claims that Akshaye's sudden exit has caused significant financial losses to the producers, and as a result, they have sent a legal notice to the actor. The producers have since roped in Jaideep Ahlawat to replace Akshaye, and the film's storyline has been tweaked slightly to accommodate the new actor. Kumar Mangat Pathak has made it clear that he will never work with Akshaye again and is seeking compensation for the losses incurred due to the actor's sudden exit.
