Actor Ewan Mitchell opens up about his method for keeping Aemond Targaryen unpredictable and spontaneous on screen in an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times.
House of the Dragon is based on George RR Martin's Fire and Blood, a novel written as a history book within his world of ice and fire.
Ewan says he keeps Aemond fresh by having faith on the day and being open to things as they come his way, and by coming in with spontaneous energy.
The actor is also awestruck by fan fiction centered on his character, with fans writing alternative histories and pairing him with other characters in 'friends-to-lovers' tropes.
Ewan is honoured to read the fan fiction and look at the fan art, and notes that all fan fiction presents Aemond as a lover, not a fighter.
The third season of House of the Dragon premieres on June 21 on HBO and HBO Max worldwide, and will conclude on August 9.
