Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has shared his experience of being offered to pay his way out of prison during his 70-plus day jail stint. He was arrested in connection with a large-scale financial fraud and spent over two months in jail before being granted bail by the Supreme Court.
According to Vikram, he was told to 'make a deal with a powerful person' to end his jail ordeal, but he refused. He also revealed that some of his friends distanced themselves from him during this time.
However, the filmmaker found unlikely friends in prison, where he shared a barrack with dozens of inmates. They welcomed him and even arranged a place for him to sleep.
Vikram was booked in a case linked to an alleged fraud involving a film project. The complainant alleged that Vikram's production house failed to deliver the films and siphoned off funds.
