The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has responded to filmmaker Sanjay Gupta's criticism over the decision to issue a Non Cooperative Directive against Ranveer Singh.

FWICE General Secretary Ashok Dubey pointed out that the federation had previously supported Gupta when his film Mumbai Saga faced issues, including Jackie Shroff walking out due to a dialogue.

Dubey clarified that the federation has not banned Ranveer Singh, but rather issued a Non Cooperative Directive, allowing members to choose not to work with the actor.

Gupta had expressed concerns that banning Ranveer Singh would deprive workers of their livelihood, but Dubey countered that the decision is an internal matter for the film body and its members.
