The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh, ending weeks of industry-wide debate.

The decision comes after FWICE received a legal notice from Ranveer Singh seeking the withdrawal of the directive and amid mounting pressure from various film bodies.

FWICE President BN Tiwari confirmed the withdrawal at a press conference in Mumbai, where Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit stated that the organisation was keen to resolve the matter through dialogue.

The dispute began when Ranveer Singh opted out of Don 3, prompting FWICE to announce a non-cooperation directive against him on May 25.

The matter took a legal turn when veteran producer TP Aggarwal moved the Bombay Civil Court in Dindoshi against FWICE and IMPPA, arguing that no association can legally prevent an individual from working.

The withdrawal of the directive comes shortly after the Producers Guild of India expressed concern over a growing trend of actors and filmmakers backing out of projects after making professional commitments.
