The sci-fi drama Project Hail Mary is running successfully worldwide, but its India release has been pushed back to March 26. The film, starring Ryan Gosling, was set to clash with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2, which has had the biggest opening in Indian cinema history, earning ₹750 crore worldwide.

Directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller spoke about the growing popularity of Indian films globally, citing RRR's success in the US, where it earned $15 million and became a phenomenon after its release on Netflix.

Lord joked, 'How dare you have your own successful film industry?' as Dhurandhar 2 has beaten several Hollywood films at the US box office.

Project Hail Mary, based on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir, follows Ryland Grace, a man who awakens on an interstellar spacecraft with no memory of how he got there.
