Idris Elba has responded to ongoing speculation that he's set to play the next James Bond, stating that the producers are 'going younger'.
The actor made the comments on the red carpet at the premiere of his new film, Masters of the Universe, in Los Angeles.
'My name's not getting thrown out, no way. They're going younger. And I wish them all the luck of the world. I can't wait -- it's going to be amazing,' he said.
Elba added that he was never in the running to play Bond, saying 'I'm honestly not in the race ever. I wasn't in the race in the first place.'
The search for the next James Bond is currently underway, with Amazon MGM Studios confirming that auditions are taking place.
While several actors have been linked to the role, including Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the studio has not confirmed any contenders.
