Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has spoken out about his 2020 film Love Aaj Kal 2, calling it a 'useless experiment' after it failed to recover its budget at the box office.
The romantic drama, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, was a commercial and critical failure, and Imtiaz has now revealed that he initially wanted to call the film 'Reverse' but decided to go with the same title as his 2009 hit.
Imtiaz has had more hits than misses in his 20-year career in Hindi cinema, but Love Aaj Kal 2 is one of his biggest misses.
In an interview, Imtiaz spoke about making the film and said that it was not a 'viable project' and that he could have made a different story.
Imtiaz's next film, Main Vaapas Aaunga, is a romantic drama set during the Partition and is set to hit the screens on June 12.
