Imtiaz Ali's upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga boasts a star-studded cast, including Naseeruddin Shah. In a recent interview, Imtiaz revealed that he often interrupted Shah during takes and asked for retakes, even risking getting slapped.
According to Imtiaz, Shah would absorb feedback instantly and channel it into his performance, but would also end up exhausted. Despite this, Imtiaz continued to push boundaries and ask for another take.
However, Imtiaz admitted that he eventually used the first take of the scene in the film. He praised Shah's performance, saying he had never seen him like this in any film and was excited for audiences to see him on screen.
Main Vaapas Aaunga is a love story set during the time of Partition, starring Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari. The film will release in theatres on June 12.
