This Friday, June 12, marks a rare occurrence in the Indian film industry as nine films are set to release in cinemas, creating a crowded marketplace.

The diverse lineup spans languages and genres, including Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga, Manoj Bajpayee's Governor, and the Hollywood films Scary Movie, Disclosure Day, and Backrooms.

Producer Anand Pandit remains unfazed, stating that smaller films are not affected by the crowded release schedule.

However, trade analyst Taran Adarsh believes the industry needs better planning, citing concerns over limited screens and potential losses for producers.

Meanwhile, Hum Angrezon Ke Zamaane Ke Jailor Hain has postponed its release by a week to June 19, and four films from last Friday will be held over.

Director Chinmay Mandlekar notes that crowded release schedules are almost inevitable due to the limited number of release windows available.
