The Bride!, starring Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley, is gearing up for release this Friday. Maggie Gyllenhaal's bold reimagining of the Bride of Frankenstein features her brother Jake Gyllenhaal in a pivotal role. Jake has opened up about his experience collaborating with Maggie on the film.

In a statement, Jake said, 'My first impression of the script was that it was truly one of a kind. A singular vision from a brilliant mind.' He praised Maggie's ability to 'gather and distill' her ideas into a 'rich, deep, modern classic.'

Jake also spoke about working with Maggie, saying, 'The truth is, she's been directing me since we were kids! I just didn't realise it would eventually become official!' He described working with her as a director as 'an absolute joy' and an 'honour.'

The Bride! also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, and Penélope Cruz. The film follows a lonely 'Frank' who travels to 1930s Chicago to ask a scientist to create a companion for him. The two revive a murdered young woman, and The Bride is born, leading to a wild and combustible romance.

The Bride! will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, releasing in India on March 6.
