The Mummy is one of the most iconic horror franchises, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how Lee Cronin's reimagining will deliver. At the film's promotional event, producer James Wan spoke about reimagining the Mummy for modern audiences.

Wan highlighted the character's enduring appeal, saying, 'The idea to be buried for thousands of years and we unearth them today...it's like a time capsule that we are discovering them now all these years later.'

He also acknowledged the franchise's rich cinematic history, from Universal's early 1930s films to Hammer Horror's iconic Christopher Lee portrayal. Wan stated, 'It's such a great iconic character. So, I think it's great that we are coming out with a scary version of this particular IP again.'

Lee Cronin, known for directing the 2023 hit Evil Dead Rise, will helm this version. The film stars Jack Reynor, Natalie Grace, Laia Costa, and May Calamawy and is set to release in theatres on April 17, distributed by Warner Bros India.
