Actor Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan, was leaked online in HD print before certification. Editor Pradeep E Ragav has been temporarily suspended by the South Indian Film Editors Association (SIFEA) for violating association rules by hiring non-members as assistants.
The association denied Ragav's involvement in the leak, but cited negligence as the reason for the suspension.
An emergency executive committee meeting was held on April 17 to discuss the matter, with leading film editors and executive committee members pitching in.
The Chennai police's cyber team arrested nine individuals, including a freelance editor, in connection with the leak.
