Jerax, a new six-episode Kannada series, is a sci-fi comedy drama that sets out to experiment and entertain. Written and directed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, the show starts off with great promise, building a political circus in a small town during an election season. The story revolves around Prakasha (Nagabhushana), an orphan who runs a small Xerox centre, and his photocopy machine that can churn out human clones. The show is filled with visually bold choices and has a strong vessel for fun, but it struggles to find a single road and stick to it, often changing tracks and venturing away from its initial direction. Despite this, Nagabhushana leads the ensemble cast with a fine performance, and the show is rooted, fun, and original, making Srinidhi Bengaluru a promising director to watch.
