Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has reacted to the recent spate of dowry-related deaths in India, calling out the country's society for abandoning daughters after marriage.

In a long Instagram post, Kangana advised young women to prioritize their careers and independence over marriage, saying 'your career is more important than anyone else in your life.'

The comments come after a 33-year-old woman was found dead in her home in Bhopal, with police forming a Special Investigation Team to probe allegations of dowry harassment against her husband and mother-in-law.

Kangana, who recently completed 20 years in the film industry, also spoke out against the societal pressures faced by young women, saying 'no one is coming to save you. What you do and what you are is more important than who you marry.'
