Veteran singer Suman Kalyanpur, known for her iconic voice in hits like 'Na Na Karte' and 'Tumne Pukara', has passed away at the age of 89 due to age-related issues.
Kalyanpur gained immense popularity in the 1960s and 1970s with her melodious voice, creating a niche for herself alongside the legendary Lata Mangeshkar.
She sang songs in multiple languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Assamese, Kannada, Bengali, and Oriya, and also performed devotional songs, ghazals, and thumris.
The last rites for Kalyanpur will be held at the Pawan Hans crematorium on Monday, around 11.30 am to 12 pm. She is survived by her daughter Charu.
