Actor Maanvi Gagroo, known for her roles in Four More Shots Please! and Tripling, is back on the big screen with Heer Sara, a female-led road-trip drama releasing on June 12, 2026. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Maanvi spoke about her character, Heer, and the importance of women-led stories in Bollywood.

Maanvi, who has gained popularity through OTT platforms, believes that women must take charge of changing the system in Bollywood. 'Men aren't going to do s**t,' she said, emphasizing the need for women to lead the change.

Maanvi's latest film, Heer Sara, is a story of friendship and self-discovery set in Pondicherry. She worked closely with writer and director Kartik Chaudhry to find the right balance for her character, Heer. Maanvi believes that understanding a character is an evolving process that continues well into the shoot.

Maanvi also spoke about the importance of women-led films being taken seriously. She pointed out that films led by women are often categorized as 'female-centric projects,' while male-led films are simply called 'films.' Maanvi believes that labels are not the problem, but the value society assigns to them is.

Maanvi's passion for women-led stories is evident in her own work. She believes that women need to change the system in Bollywood, as men are unlikely to do so on their own.
