Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu is gearing up for the highly-anticipated film Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli. In preparation for his role as Rudhra, Mahesh trained in the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu, an experience that left his trainer deeply inspired. According to Hari Krishna, a renowned Kalaripayattu trainer from Hyderabad, working with Mahesh was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Krishna shared his experience on Instagram, praising Mahesh's dedication, humility, and warm hospitality. The trainer expressed his gratitude to Nasser and Rajamouli for the opportunity. For those unfamiliar, Kalaripayattu is a centuries-old martial art from Kerala, combining physical training, spiritual discipline, and unique combat techniques. This ancient art form has been featured in several films, including Commando and Kantara: Chapter 1. Varanasi, Rajamouli's upcoming project, follows the success of RRR, which won a Golden Globe and an Oscar. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and is expected to release during Sankranti 2027. With its unique blend of adventure and time-travel elements, Varanasi promises to be an epic cinematic experience.
