Malayalam actor Anugraha S Nambiar has accused the makers of the Tamil JioHotstar web series Resort of not paying her fee and engaging in contractual traps. She has also levelled serious accusations against the lead actor of the series, Vijay Kumar Rajendran, and his wife, Nakshatra Murthy. In a video posted on her Instagram, Anugraha alleged that she is losing out on work after signing a contract with the makers of Resort, alleging that they haven’t paid her for the work completed either.
She claimed that the whole ordeal has affected her emotionally and physically, with the stress resulting in epileptic seizures and a fall that required hospitalisation. Anugraha also alleged that Vijay and Nakshatra sent her abusive messages and were unempathetic to her ordeal. Malavika Sreenath, a fellow actress, seemed to back Anugraha's allegations.
Nakshatra Murthy denied all allegations, claiming that Anugraha’s friend had called her late at night and screamed at her. Vijay Kumar Rajendran also broke his silence, denying Anugraha’s allegations and claiming that she had already been paid for her work on the show. He also alleged that Anugraha was given permission to leave when she needed to go to another audition, even though she was supposed to be working.
The controversy has snowballed, with both sides presenting their versions of the story. Anugraha has levelled more allegations against Vijay, claiming that there were more ‘victims’ like her in this ordeal. Vijay has threatened to file a defamation suit against Anugraha, adding that they have all the evidence against her.
