Former NCT member Mark Lee has found himself at the center of controversy after photos of him wearing a T-shirt featuring the Confederate flag surfaced online.

The Confederate flag, a symbol of the American Civil War, has been a source of debate and controversy for decades, with many viewing it as a representation of racism and slavery.

Upper Room, Mark's newly established label, has apologized for posting photos of him wearing the T-shirt, stating that the outfit was chosen solely as a vintage styling item but failed to consider the historical significance and sensitivity of the symbol.

Mark left NCT and SM Entertainment in April and announced his new label earlier this month, according to Soompi.

Fans have taken to social media to express their reactions, with some calling for Mark to explain himself and others defending him, saying that he may not have been aware of the symbol's significance.

Upper Room has emphasized that the agency and Mark firmly oppose and do not tolerate any form of racism, hatred, discrimination, or bigotry, and has apologized to everyone who felt hurt, offended, or disappointed by the incident.
