Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are facing a defamation lawsuit over their Netflix film 'The Rip', which has been accused of portraying Miami police officers in an 'unfair' light.

The lawsuit, filed by several officers involved in the 2016 Miami Lakes narcotics raid, alleges that the film's depiction has tarnished the reputations of those connected to the high-profile operation.

One of the officers, Jonathan Santana, claims that the film's portrayal of corruption within the investigation has led to verbal jabs and teasing from the public.

The lawsuit argues that the producers should have hired Santana and fellow officer Jason Smith as consultants for the film, rather than appointing another police officer with no involvement in the original investigation.

This is not the first time 'The Rip' has sparked controversy, with the city's mayor accusing the film of falsely portraying Hialeah as an unsafe and crime-ridden city.
