Indian television host and actor Mini Mathur has strongly disagreed with Kirti Kulhari's comments about cooks and maids charging too much in Mumbai's upscale localities. Kirti had said that a cook and a maid were charging her ₹10,000 for two hours of work, which includes sweeping, mopping, and doing the dishes. Mini Mathur reacted to the video, saying that ₹10,000 for two hours of work is below minimum wage anywhere else in the world.
Kirti had made the comments in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, where she discussed her recent shift to Mumbai's Yaari Road area and the high rates quoted by the cook and the maid. She had said that she was quoted ₹10,000 for two hours of work, which includes dusting, laundry, and other household chores.
Mini Mathur's reaction came after the video was shared by Uncut India. Comedian Vivek Samtani also reacted, saying that ₹10,000 for two hours of work is barely $2 per hour, and that is too much.
