Music composer Mani Sharma, once a household name in Tollywood, has revealed that he's now 'swatting flies' after falling out of favor with the industry's top stars.

At a recent event, Sharma spoke about how he was out of work until Sai Rajesh approached him to work on the film Gurthunda from Chennai Love Story.

Sharma emotionally recalled how he would wake up every morning and swat flies, but Rajesh's call brought him back to work.

The composer added that he had to dust off his harmonium and start working again, and that one tune brought back the spark in him.

Fans of Sharma were emotional when his speech began circulating on social media, with many remarking about how he once ruled Tollywood.

Sharma's career took off in the 90s and early 2000s, with hits for Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, and Vijay. He was known as the 'Melody Brahma' and was much sought after at one point in his career.

However, work with stars soon petered out after the 2012 film Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu, and Sharma was replaced by newer composers.

Despite working on a few projects in Hindi and Kannada, Sharma rued that the bigger stars no longer work with him, and that he feels ignored despite giving them hit songs.
