Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has spoken out against the growing trend of large entourages and franchise filmmaking in the Indian film industry. In an interview, he emphasized the importance of efficiency and professionalism, stating that a small team can often accomplish more than a large one. 'When a small team can do work efficiently, what's the need for big teams and so many people?' he asked. Siddiqui, who has appeared in films like Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murder Case, believes that the industry's overreliance on franchises and sequels is a result of creative complacency rather than a genuine desire to tell new stories. He noted that even Hollywood is guilty of this trend, and that it's not just a Bollywood problem. The 51-year-old actor stressed that audiences are not stupid and can see through repetition. 'You can't be lazy with content,' he warned. 'Some things shouldn't be touched again and again.' He urged filmmakers to take a more ambitious approach to storytelling and to avoid relying on formulas that have worked in the past. While acknowledging that personal preferences and working styles can vary from person to person, Siddiqui emphasized that professionalism lies in knowing what's essential to the creative process. He also acknowledged that producers and actors must work together to find a balance that suits everyone's needs.
