The horror sensation of the year, Obsession, has taken social media by storm and translated its viral buzz into impressive box office numbers. Directed by debutant filmmaker Curry Barker, the film has dominated social media conversations and found a foothold in India. According to the latest report, Obsession has collected ₹2.63 crore on its 5th day in Indian theatres, a growth in numbers compared to Monday's ₹2.00 crore. This brings the total India gross collections to ₹14.78 crore and the total India net to ₹12.38 crore so far.
Bollywood stars Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday have also praised the film, with Kartik calling it "one of the best horror films after a very long time" and Ananya stating that it left a lasting impression on her.
The story follows Bear, a lonely music store worker who makes a desperate wish that his childhood friend Nikki would love him more than anyone else in the world. However, the wish comes true in the worst possible way, with Nikki's feelings becoming overwhelming, obsessive, and unstable.
