The makers of Ram Charan's sports action drama Peddi have faced criticism over the alleged hypersexualisation of Janhvi Kapoor's character. Director Buchi Babu Sana has now revealed that some of the controversial scenes have been removed from the film.

In an interview, Buchi Babu Sana addressed the criticism surrounding Janhvi Kapoor's character, Achiyyamma, and her romantic track with Ram Charan's Peddi. He admitted that some of the scenes may have conveyed the wrong message and that a few shots turned misleading.

The director explained that he wanted to show the rawness of Peddi's character, but some of the scenes were perceived as objectifying Janhvi Kapoor's character. He promised to make the corrections in the movie and has since removed the scenes.

Despite the backlash, Peddi has emerged as a success, collecting over ₹300 crore worldwide at the box office.
