Comedian Pranit More has apologized for his role in the viral biryani row controversy, where he failed to intervene when an audience member made derogatory remarks about a woman during a stand-up show.

In a recent Instagram post, Pranit expressed regret for not stopping the audience member, Himanshu Jangra, from making the objectionable comments. He acknowledged that he had a lapse in judgment and gave Jangra a platform to make the remarks, which escalated the situation.

Pranit has also appealed for forgiveness and promised to become a better person, stating that he will work on himself and his content to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The controversy began when a video of Pranit's stand-up show in Gurugram went viral, showing Jangra sharing an incident from his dating life where he claimed to have spent ₹370 on a biryani and expected something in return from the woman. The comment drew laughter from the audience, including Pranit, and was later shared on social media, sparking widespread criticism.

Pranit and Jangra have been booked by the Maharashtra Cyber Police for obscenity and sexual harassment, and the National Commission for Women has summoned them for glorifying and applauding non-consensual conduct towards a woman and promoting sexual coercion.
