Actor Pratik Gandhi believes theatre has great potential ahead and is an "exclusive medium" that should be valued for its unique experience.
On World Theatre Day, he expressed hope for the future of live performances, citing the boom in live shows and concerts.
He also highlighted the viability of theatre, despite its limitations in terms of capacity, and compared it favourably to the West where play tickets are priced higher than film tickets.
Gandhi, who has been in theatre for two decades, calls it an "actor's gym" that helps actors develop their skills and provides a platform for outstanding performances.
He also expressed a desire to explore more comedy plays and is looking forward to producing a play where he may or may not act.
Gandhi also wished for improved theatre infrastructure in the country, citing the lack of basic facilities and maintenance of existing ones.
