Actor Pratik Gandhi, who has been a part of theatre for two decades, believes that this medium has great potential ahead. He feels that whatever success he has achieved till now is due to theatre.
On World Theatre Day, Gandhi expressed his thoughts on the medium, saying that it should no longer be considered a poor medium. He believes that the boom in live shows gives him hope and that people are willing to pay more for live experiences.
Gandhi also compared the viability of theatre in India with the West, where play tickets are priced higher than film tickets. He emphasized that theatre is an actor's gym, helping actors in mediums like films and shows.
He added that theatre teaches discipline and makes one human, and that it has zero space for errors. Gandhi also expressed his desire to explore more in comedy plays and is looking forward to producing a play where he may or may not act.
On this day, Gandhi has a personal wish: to improve the theatre infrastructure in the country, which he believes is lacking and in bad shape.
