Actor Priya Bapat has spoken out about an unsettling experience on set where professional lines were crossed. The incident left her struggling to maintain her boundaries in an industry she was still learning to navigate.
Priya revealed that she felt uneasy about a specific kissing scene from the very beginning, questioning the director's decision to include it in the film. Despite her doubts, she chose to go through with the scene, viewing it as a personal challenge to conquer her own boundaries as a performer.
However, things took a turn for the worse during a song shoot when the actor started improvising physical intimacy far beyond what was originally rehearsed and agreed upon. Priya expressed regret over how she handled the situation, stating that she didn't take a stand for herself at the time because she didn't know how to deal with it.
The behaviour continued off the set and into her personal space, with her co-star persistently trying to reach out to her outside of filming hours, making unwanted advances despite her clear lack of interest. Priya's husband, actor Umesh Kamat, stepped in and flew to the set, staying by her side for three days to support her.
Priya noted that the incident remains the only experience of its kind that she has ever had to face throughout her entire acting career. She is set to dive back into the psychological genre with one of her most anticipated projects, Dalimb: The Myth.
