The Hera Pheri 3 controversy refuses to die down. Amid the ongoing rights battle, Paresh Rawal has reportedly exited the project, returning his signing amount of ₹11 lakh along with 15 percent interest. Director Priyadarshan, however, claims to be unaware of the situation.
Priyadarshan's response comes as a surprise, given the recent reports of Paresh's exit. The film's lead star, Akshay Kumar, had earlier filed a ₹25 crore lawsuit against Paresh following his abrupt departure in 2025. However, the matter was later resolved, and Paresh returned to the project.
Akshay had earlier stated that Hera Pheri 3 is not happening at the moment, citing various issues and agreements that are hindering the project's progress. He expressed hope that the film will be made in the future, but only when the time is right.
The Hera Pheri 3 project has been entangled in a legal battle since its inception. Production house Seven Arts International has filed a case against the film's makers, claiming that Sajid Nadiadwala only had the rights to remake one film, the Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam original Ramji Rao Speaking (1989).
