Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan has expressed his disappointment with the current state of Bollywood, stating that the industry prioritizes stars over storytelling.
In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Priyadarshan revealed that he believes creators in Bollywood do not have the creative liberty to experiment with new ideas, and that the focus on glamour overshadows content.
He also praised the Malayalam film industry for its emphasis on storytelling and its ability to produce innovative content despite limited budgets.
Priyadarshan's comments come as he prepares to release his upcoming film, Bhooth Bangla, which marks his return to Hindi cinema after a 14-year hiatus.
